Privacy policy
This policy explains how the Automated Shorts publishing tool handles information when its creator uses it to manage their own YouTube channels.
Who operates the tool
Automated Shorts is a locally operated software project for its creator. It does not provide public accounts or a hosted service to other people. The software runs on the creator’s computer; this website is informational.
Information the tool handles
When used, the local tool may handle Google OAuth credentials and tokens, the selected YouTube channel identifier, video files, titles, descriptions, tags, publication times, export fingerprints, upload session details, and video identifiers or status returned by YouTube. These are used to connect the creator’s channel, prevent accidental duplicate uploads, upload selected videos, and verify their status and schedule.
Google and YouTube
Authorization uses Google OAuth. The tool requests YouTube upload and read access. When the creator initiates an upload or status check, information is sent to Google’s OAuth and YouTube Data API services as needed to perform that action. Google handles that information under its own terms and privacy policy. The tool does not ask for or store the creator’s Google account password.
Local storage and security
OAuth client files, refresh tokens, and upload records are stored in the local project’s credential directory, not in a service operated by this project. The software applies restrictive file permissions where supported. Anyone with access to the computer or its files may be able to access locally stored information; the creator is responsible for protecting the device and backups.
Website access
This informational website is a static set of pages. It does not include an account system, contact form, advertising, analytics scripts, or embedded third-party media. The hosting provider may process standard connection data as part of serving the pages; consult that provider’s policy for details.
Retention and deletion
Local records remain on the creator’s computer until the creator removes them. Google OAuth access can be revoked through the creator’s Google Account security settings. Removing local tokens does not itself delete videos or data already held by YouTube.
Children and changes
This tool is intended for use by its adult operator and is not designed for children. This policy may be updated if the tool’s data handling changes; the date above identifies the latest revision.
